Plexamp
Plex has a special Music Streaming app just for audio called PlexAmp that is better for playing music

PlexAmp is available for computers, tablets, and phones. These settings mainly apply for mobile settings.

Each device needs its own setup, so you may need to repeat these steps each time on a new device.

– Download the PlexAmp app from the app store and log in with the same login as your Plex account.
– From the home screen, tap the Gear icon in the bottom right.
– In the settings menu, select Source.

– Choose the audio library you want (Music, Audiobooks, Headspace).
– PlexAmp can only have one library selected at a time, so you will need to change this if you want to switch libraries.
– In the settings menu, select Playback.

– Tap Quality

– Match the settings as shown:
– Wi-Fi: Maximum
– Cellular: 128 Kbps
– Conversion Bitrate: 128 Kbps
** If your Wi-Fi is not strong or you notice slow loading, you can lower the quality.

– Go back to the settings menu and select downloads
Match the settings as shown:
– Quality: Automatic
– Downloads on Cellular: On (You can keep off if you dont have unlimited data)
– Prefer Downloaded Media: On Cellular
– Refresh Downloads: On
– From the home screen, tap the Music symbol on the bottom.

– You can choose music from various categories like Artists, Albums, and Tracks.

– **Track Collections:** These are playlists based on different moods and are shuffled daily.

– **Folders:** This section shows how media is stored on the server, organized by Genre, then by Artists, and finally by the artist’s content.

– Everything else is self explanatory, its well organized and should be easy to use
*Note: You need a Plex Pass subscription for this feature.*

– To download music to listen offline, select the three dots on the bottom media/album you want to download.

– Tap Download.

*Offline downloads can be individual songs, playlists and albums*
– On the main home screen, tap the Download icon at the bottom next to the Gear.
– Here you can view, listen to, and delete your downloads.
Congratulations! You’re ready to listen! Explore and try different features.
If you have a PlexPass, Plex will create mixes and collections based on your listening preferences.
