Media Requests
Don’t see a movie or show you want?
You can use a free web app called Overseerr to automatically request any movie or show you want and add it to Plex. Take a look at the overview below for a quick rundown of how to use it. It’s easy and free!
– Head to https://requests.jarvisstreamstudios.com
– Under use your Plex account, click Sign In
– Sign in using the same login and method you use for Plex, no new account is needed
– If you dont have Plex access yet, head to the request access tab first
– Once your logged in, you should be on the main page with common movie categories
There are a few icons on the movie posters to take note of
– A clock means the movie is already requested but not released yet
– A green check mark means the movie is already available in Plex
——-
– If an upcoming movie interests you, you can click on it to view its release date and availability.
——-
– Use the search bar or filters to find a movie you’re interested in.
– Once you’ve found one, either click the “Request” button on the poster or click the movie itself and then click the purple “Request” button.
——-
– Confirm the request if you get a pop up window
– To view the status of requested movies, click on the requests tab on the left side of the page.
– If you just requested it, or its still searching, it may still say “pending”
——-
– Once found, you’ll see the status change to processing and likely an ETA
——-
– When finished, you’ll see the status change to “Available”
– You should now be able to head to Plex, and your movie should be available for you to watch!
– There are two icons on TV Shows to take note of
– The green check mark indicates all available episodes are available in Plex already
– The green dash indicates that the season is only partially available in Plex
– To request a TV show, click the show and click the request button like before
——-
– You have the option of selecting only a single season
——-
– Or you can choose to request all of the seasons!
Just a note:
After media is requested, download times can vary by a variety of reasons. Full seasons may take awhile while single movies may be quick. If something gets stuck I will usually get notified and fix it within the day
